I have suspended my “One Photograph a Day” today for a special reason. The photograph above was taken by a friend of mine on one of his trips to Palestine whilst creating a photo documentary. He was following the work of the lady in the shot amongst the Palestinian refugees. It was one of his favourite shots, and today it is posted as a tribute to Ron Coello, who took the shot almost exactly four years ago to the day.

Very tragically he has been taken from us before his time. I met him when he was running one of his photography courses and I have Ron to thank for my increased interest in photography. Forever in my heart.

Hi Tim, I’ve stumbled upon you ‘acidentally’. I’ve been trying to be in touch with my old pal Ron. I’ve tried to call his numbers and emailed. Not getting any response, the other night I did a search and found this. I’m a bit thrown! I’d like to find out a bit more – can we be in touch?

    Hi Tim,

I used to work with Ron when he was a civil servant (90s) and was shocked to find that he is no longer with us.

Hi Tim, I kindly request you to send me a message about Ron. He was a dear friend, and after trying to reach him, I’ve learned he’s no longer with us. We used to work together in the civil service, and I also knew his ex-wife, Wendy. Please get in touch with me.

Hi Tim, I used to work with Ron in the 90s in the Civil Service and was shocked to come across this news!

Would you be able to tell me his cause of death? I will understand if you are not willing to divulge this information.

    Regards

    Kana

This is so sad. I was in a couple of his workshops and we also went out for drinks a few times. So sad to come across this. Keen to know more about how he went.
