Extreme Fairground Ride.
Since Monday evening, the streets of Banbury have been slowly taking over. Colourful Fairground Rides have been assembled. Tonight was the time to photograph!
As dusk approached, I went out armed with camera and tripod. I have experimented with a number of shots, trying to find the best way to capture the motion and the colours.
There were several elements to this ride – cars like the twist, but suspended and rotated whilst the ride goes round. It results in a kaleidoscope of colour. The fact that it was raining slightly has given the subtle reflections on the pavement, and the dots of colour, which all add to the effect.
Fairground rides are great to photograph. You can plan the shot, but until it is taken, you can never be quite sure how it will turn out. This is why I love this style of photography.
