Elliott’s Field Shopping.
Today being another greyish day, I had decided to leave it until dusk to get a photograph. I went to the new shopping area at Elliott’s Field, Rugby.
My intention had been to get a shot looking across the whole development. However, I had left it too late, and although I took a few shots, they just didn’t work with the dark sky.
I therefore decided to move in closer. A walk along by the shops proved that there was a shot here. There was enough lighting from the shops in Elliott’s Field and the roofing to illuminate the scene. The dark sky actually enhances the photograph, providing contrast.
This was one of three images taken. I wanted to capture some motion with people. Being right in the light, it was possible to shorten the exposure time to a little over 3 seconds – enough to capture a blur of movement.
This retail park is new in the last couple of years. When we were here three years ago, the “old” Elliott’s Park was in the process of being closed down in readiness for demolition.
