Mad O’Rourkes.
This is one of those destinations you just have to go to if you are in the Tipton area – especially if you like pies and/or real ales. Built in 1923 as The Doughty Arms (after Cllr William Woolley Doughty, Chairman of Tipton Urban District Council), it replaced a previous hostelry called The Five Ways Inn. In 1987 it was bought by The Little Pub Company in 1987, who then renamed it Mad O’Rourkes Famous Pie Factory. The prominent location on this road junction makes it perfect for long-exposure photography, although you do have to get the timing right with the traffic lights. If cars are waiting for too long during the shot, it creates too much of a bright spot.
