Mik and Sue.
Today, we had the honour of being invited to Mik and Sue’s Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration. Naturally, the camera had to come and, naturally, photographs had to be taken.
If you follow this blog, you will know that I do not profess to be a portrait photographer. However, out of all the shots taken, today’s photograph had to be one of the happy couple.
We have not known Mik and Sue that long, but they have become very good friends. Almost family. They are easy to photograph. Always a smile. Nothing forced, just inner joy spilling out.
The venue is a little dark for taking photos. But, so many people were celebrating with them, to start getting involved with flash would have been more trouble than it was worth!
Since they were posing, they were still enough for a fairly slow exposure. Pushing the ISO up a little reduced the amount of light required so that I could get a reasonable aperture for depth of focus. Someone very kindly moved the balloons into shot which, had I realised, I would have moved away. But, I was too busy keeping the window on the right out of shot. Note to self – check everything in the image.
