St Thomas’ Church.
With the current Coronavirus outbreak, life has changed considerably. “Mothering Sunday”, the fourth Sunday in Lent, was when people returned to their “mother church” – usually the one where they were baptized. It is only more recently that is has morphed into the secular tradition that we understand it today, where we take the time to honour our own mothers. So today, St Thomas’ Church in Wednesfield, like every other across the country, lay empty. However, it was open this evening for private prayer, so I was fortunate to see inside this magnificent building. So I have taken the opportunity to post a couple more photographs. Particularly the poignant daffodils in the foyer.
