Aldermaston Lock.
A trip back to our boat meant an opportunity to get a canal view for today’s photograph! We left Bournemouth in quite foggy conditions but, not too far into our journey, the fog cleared, the sky cleared and the sun shone.
Aldermaston Lock is in a lovely setting. An old arm, to connect with the railway, led to a basin. Now, it only leads to a sanitary station – and that has been closed for some time, although there is a tap to get water, along with rubbish bins.
With the sun setting, and a bit of cloud cover, some wonderful colour filled the sky. A handy position by the unique lift-bridge offered the perfect vantage point.
A bit of post-processing, lightening the darker parts of the photo, finishes the scene.
