Long Exposure of Thurso Harbour.
Today we have taken the train to the most northerly station on the network. Today’s photograph is looking out across Thurso Harbour towards the Orkneys.
We have been travelling most of the day. One and a half hours coach journey from Laggan Locks to Inverness. Then picking up the train for another nearly 4 hours! We have enjoyed some beautiful scenery along the way.
There is a lot to photograph here, but time was limited this evening. We had done a brief walk shortly after we arrived, but I wanted something to capture the glory of Thurso Harbour.
Deciding on a long exposure, I ventured out again. The four images I shot were all representative, but I like this one looking out towards the Orkneys. I was also particularly happy with the movement amongst the young lads fishing at the end of the jetty.
Having looked at the final shot, I decided it looked better in black and white, so present here the converted image.
