Night Time Water Reflections.
Yet another grey day. It has also rained all day. Not conducive to going out at all, let alone take photographs! However, by the evening, the rain had turned more misty.
So, armed with camera, out I went. I had various ideas, but I liked the idea of taking advantage of the weather, and picking out water reflections in the puddles on the pavement. I was looking for somewhere well lit, as I didn’t take my tripod.
I headed down to The Triangle. An area I remember from when I was growing up in Bournemouth, where there was a bus park in the centre. Trolley buses too, in the old days!
Bournemouth Town Centre pretty much closes down out of hours, but here there are a few shops and takeaways that stay open later. I was rewarded by some great water reflections.
A low angle picks out the puddle, which becomes the main focus of the image. The wide exposure ensures a short depth of field, so the background action can be discerned, but does not distract. Similarly, the brightly lit shopfronts on the right do not overpower the image.
